Hello friends, and welcome to The Feminist Housewife, or TFH for short.
This project has been in the works for what feels like a century now (if you want more of our origin story click here) but it's finally here! And I want to tell you all about what you can expect.
Let's talk podcasts! TFH currently has two podcasts in production:
Unabashed with Ash, that I cohost with one of my best friends from elementary school, Ashley. We shoot the sh*t, have some good laughs, and mostly talk about things that are nostalgic in some kind of way.
Bracket Beans, which I cohost with my husband, Carter. On this podcast we pick a category (like Disney movies, musicals, frozen pizza) and pit all the things in that category against each other, March Madness style, to see what wins in a head-to-head battle royale! If you're into hearing two certified overthinkers pick apart your favorite things in life, look no further! Our first bracket will be 32 Disney animated feature films. You can play along with us at home!
Now for the main event- the blog!
Like most things in my life, my initial concept for this blog started as one thing and quickly blossomed into ten million different things. So, instead of limiting myself, I decided
F*ck it. Let's do it all!
You're gonna get a little bit of everything here. This blog is essentially the dumping grounds for all of the things on my mind, from life-hacks that have helped me be less of a hot mess, to my thoughts on my daily Wordle adventures.
But the most important thing I want to post about is people. How to be talk to them, be one of them, love them, communicate with them, and respect them. We are all painfully aware that existing as a person right now feels like walking on egg shells. Everything feels tense and divisive, and I've seen society at large lose our sense of community. So my real goal is to build a community right here. A community of people who want to learn and grow and understand one another just a little bit better.
The Feminist Housewife is a safe place to exist and a safe place to learn. The name of the blog even comes from a place of two seemingly opposing ideas coexisting harmoniously. I want this virtual space to be a positive part of bridging the gap. As we go forward on this journey together, I'll post more and more of my thoughts on community building, communication, and emotional intelligence.
And no, I will never charge money for this. I refuse to gatekeep any knowledge I've acquired that would benefit the greater good. You don't have to worry about me doing "masterclasses" or putting self help behind a pay wall. I am no "expert" or "professional" at any of this. I'm just another person like you, trying to make sense of the world and leave it a better place than I found it.
If you've read this far and like what you see, I hope you consider becoming a member! Memberships are completely and entirely free. All they do is allow you to comment on posts and join focus groups where we can have virtual round table discussions, share ideas, and grow together.
Thank you so much for being here with me in this virtual space. I'll sign off today by sharing one of my favorite life lessons that I keep in my back pocket:
Don't forget to give yourself the same grace you give to those around you.
